Wallaceburg Red Devils Rally to Beat Sarnia With 6 Late Goals
Trailing 8-6 heading into the third period, and allowing 2 more early third period goals, it looked like the Wallaceburg Red Devils were on their way to falling to 2-4 on the season. The Red Devils however, wouldn’t have it, scoring 6 unanswered goals against the Sarnia Pacers for a 12-10 comeback win.
In the first period, the Red Devils and Pacers held close with several special teams goals. Tyson Isaac opened the scoring for Wallaceburg unassisted, before Dillon Lapointe closed out the period for the Red Devils scoring on the powerplay from Jordan Durston.
After second period goals by Lapointe, Reid Miller, Durston, and Rob Pollock, the Red Devils headed to the third period trailing 8-6.
Early in the third, the Sarnia Pacers scored two more to extend their lead to 10-6, before Wallaceburg turned things around and scored an astounding 6 unanswered goals to take the game 12-10. Third period goals were netted by Lapointe, Miller, Durston (2), and Pollock (2).
In total, Rob Pollock, Jordan Durston, and Dillon Lapointe each scored hat tricks in the game, with Pollock putting together a 7-point game. Kirby Celotto took the win in net making 34 saves. The Wallaceburg Red Devils now travel to Windsor Thursday night to play the Clippers at 7:30pm.
In order for the Red Devils to have any success this year they need to recruit a goalie. Their goalie is horrible, he has depended in the past with his size now that the nets are bigger and the fact he seems to be afraid of the ball and doesn’t move — opposing teams are scoring at will.
Currently the Red Devils rank second worse in the league in goals against 102 for a team with a fairly decent record three wins and three losses this unacceptable.
Red Devils are getting scored on in the first minute of each game with subsequent goals ranging in the area of one every 2 minutes during the first period. the Red Devils are finding themselves so far behind it is difficult to come back despite being middle of the road in offensive numbers.
If the ball doesn’t hit their goalie and if it’s on net it goes in.
Red Devils, make one move “get a goalie” and watch the win and goals against stats improve over night.
Seems your goalie’s poor work ethics and conditioning over the years has finally caught up with him.
Brutal!
