Wallaceburg Red Devils Win Nailbiter at Home Against Windsor

Wallaceburg Red DevilsThe Wallaceburg Red Devils snapped a two game losing streak by narrowly defeating the Windsor Clippers 12-11 at home Wednesday evening.

Clint Lamarsh and Reid Miller continued their torrid scoring streaks with Lamarsh picking up 2 goals, and Miller netting a hat trick . Lamarsh also added 2 assists. Jordan Durston, a Six Nations draft pick last season in the OLA Junior A draft, had a break out night scoring 4 goals for his team.

In the third period, Wallaceburg and Windsor exchanged goals but the Red Devils were able to hold on despite a late powerplay chance for the Windsor Clippers.

Other Wallaceburg Red Devils goals were scored by Dillon Lapointe, Brandon Lilley, and Rob Pollock. Joel Shepley chipped in with 3 assists in the game. Kirby Celotto was solid in net for the Red Devils picking up the win making 40 saves in the game.

Through their first four games of the season, Jordan Durston leads the Wallaceburg Red Devils in scoring with 20 points, while Clint Lamarsh sits only a point back at 19. Reid Miller is still the team’s leading goal scorer notching 13 goals in his first 4 contests.

Wallaceburg who sits at 2-2, now faces the Welland Warlords Saturday at home at 4:00pm. In three games this season, Welland is 1-2, including two losses to Six Nations who defeated Wallaceburg 20-10 in their home opener last weekend.
