The Blenheim Blast Swim Team travelled to Bluewater Fun Park in Sarnia to celebrate the accomplishments of the team’s fantastic swim year. The recipients of the Most Improved Swimmer were: Abigael Johnston (Entry Level), Grace Hansen (Novice Level) and Riley Johnson (Advanced Level). River Pfaff received the Mary Ann Vandersluis Award. The Coaches Award went to Olivia Hanak-Guttridge. Brendan Van Herk was awarded the Swimmer of the Year of Award to recognize his continued success in the pool . The President’s Award for the Volunteer of the Year went to Gerry Pfaff in honour of his hard work and dedication with the team.

Trophies were awarded to all of the Blast Swimmers who qualified for W.O.S.A. Championship time standards throughout the year . Recipients were: Emma Pegg (7), Grace Hanson (10) , Mackenzie Desbiens (12) , Rain Pfaff(12) , River Pfaff (14) , Riley Johnson (14) , Shania Van Herk (14) , Brendan Van Herk (11) , Justine Van Herk (17) , Mackenzie Rajki (14) , Kasia Jackman (11) , Brandelyn Kelly (15) , and Catherine Thompson(14) .

Provincial Qualifier Plaques were awarded to Brendan, Shania and Justine Van Herk. Riley Johnson also qualified to attend the Provincials in Etobicoke on Saturday after leaving the year end party early to swim at the Wayne Gretzky Pool in Brantford. Johnson qualified with a time of 1:10.54 (short course) in the 14 year old girls 100M Butterfly . Shania and Justine Van Herk were also awared with National Age Category Qualification Plaques to honour their qualification for Age Group Nationals in Montreal from July 27 – August 1.
