Chatham Midget Diamonds Send Dresden Packing
The Chatham Diamonds Midget travel baseball team lit up Fergie Jenkins Field Sunday evening defeating Dresden 13-0 on their home turf.
Tyler Cogghe lead the charge for Chatham with a double and single in the game, while Blenheim’s Blayne Oliver had two singles in the game. Other Chatham Diamonds hits came from Keegan Delanghe, Kirk McKillop, and Dylan Webster. On the pitching mound, Shawn Delanghe went the distance striking out 8 and allowing only 4 hits.
Saturday the Midget Chatham Diamonds weren’t as lucky falling 7-6 to Courtright despite a late comeback attempt. Oliver again had a strong game at the plate with a double and a single, while Brooks Shepley and Cody Wilkins each had two singles and a double.
Shepley and Kyle Negre split the game on the mound with Shepley collecting 4 strike outs and allowing 2 hits, while Negre struck out 5, allowing 6 hits in 4 innings pitched.
Courtright also got the upper hand in game two of their Saturday double header winning 10-6.
