Elora Outpowers Wallaceburg Red Devils on Championship Reunion Night
On a night when the Wallaceburg Red Devils honoured their 2001 Founders Cup winning team, the current Red Devils couldn’t pull out a win against the Elora Mohawks. Elora overpowered the Red Devils handing the home team a 18-8 loss.
Ten years ago, the Wallaceburg Red Devils defeated Elora to win the Canadian Junior B lacrosse championships, the Founders Cup. Friday evening facing Elora, the current Red Devils couldn’t use the added motivation of the Founders Cup winning team in attendance, losing 18-8 on the heels of a 12-point game by Elora’s Dan Keane.
Jordan Durston and Reid Miller had 2 goals each in the loss, while Matt Kussman and Rob Polloch had a goal and 2 assists each. Miller also added two assists in the game to continue his strong season for Wallaceburg. Clint Lamarsh and Brandon Lilley had the other Wallaceburg Red Devils’ goals.
With only 5 games remaining in their season, the Red Devils are in desperate need of a winning finish to their season. Wallaceburg travels to London Sunday, June 5 to play the Blue Devils.
