In a double header Saturday at home, the Maple City Brewers won both games against the Harrow Blues. The first game was a nailbiter with a 10th inning 7-6 win. After the loss, Harrow seemed to have the wind taken out of their sails with Chatham (Maple City) winning game two of the evening 11-6.

Following a leadoff double by Jason Shaw, Mike Verfaillie brought Shaw home on a 10th inning single, clearing the way for Joey Hewak to close out the game on the pitching mound for the Maple City Brewers. Shaw and Matt Knights both went 3-5 and 2 RBIs apiece.

The second game of the day saw Maple City powering past Harrow 11-6 with Knights, Shaw, Hewak, and Brandyn Broadwood each scoring twice. Broadwood went 2-2 with 2 walks, a home run, and 3 RBIs in the game, while Matt Rylett went the distance on the mound pitching seven strong inning for the Maple City Brewers allowing 13 hits and striking out 2.

Maple City travels to Port Lambton Sunday and Woodslee Wednesday, followed by Friday evening at 7pm at Fergie Jenkins Field in Chatham.
