Joey Hewak went 3-3 with 2 doubles and a single, while pitcher Dave Carey also advanced to base 4 times, going 2-2 and being hit twice by pitches in the Maple City Brewers 12-2 win over the Forest Dragons. Their game against Forest was the first of a Father’s Day double header, double victory, with their second coming after a 7 run comeback win 16-10 over the Amherstburg Jr. Cardinals.

In the opening game, Hewak and Carey led their team to the win after a slow start. Hewak’s 3-3 performance also included 3 RBI’s, while Carey went the distance on the pitchers mound striking out 4 in the game.

Ryan Cattryse also had a strong afternoon for the Brewers hitting 2 doubles brining in 3 RBI’s.

Heading into the 6th inning of their second game of the day against the Amherstberg Jr. Cardinals, Chatham’s Maple City Brewers trailed the young Amherstburg team 10-9, however after swatting in 7 runs in the 6th, the Brew Crew finished off the day with two wins, including a 16-10 win over Amherstburg.

Adding to his already impressive first game, Dave Carey hit a 6th inning grand slam propelling his team to their comeback win. Hewak again added 3 RBI’s while going 3-4 at the plate in the game.
