Red Devils Drop a Pair to Six Nations, Facing Elimination
No one expected the Wallaceburg Red Devils to walk away with their opening round playoff series against the Six Nations Rebels, but now, after two weekend losses the Red Devils have their backs against the wall facing elimination.
Entering the third period of Saturday’s game one, the Red Devils were tied 8-8 with the Six Nations Rebels, however a poor start to the period put Wallaceburg in a 4 goal hole, which although they fought valiantly to overcome, Wallacebugr fell one goal short losing 13-12.
Former Wallaceburg Minor Lacrosse player Chris Attwood scored 4 goals and added 3 assists for the Six Nations Rebels in the win. Wallaceburg was led by Clint Lamarsh, who had 6 goals in the game, and Jordan Durston who had 2 goals and 4 assists. Rob Pollock had a goal and 3 assists for the Red Devils, while Tyson Isaac, Brandon Lilley, and Reid Miller each had a goal and an assist in the loss.
In game two on Sunday, the Six Nations Rebels stormed out of the gate opening up a 6-1 lead after the first period, with Wallaceburg’s only goal coming shorthanded by Rob Pollock. Pollock led the Red Devils in the game with 2 goals and 2 assists. Clint Lamarsh also had another multi-goal game scoring twice in what turned out to be a 19-6 loss.
Other Wallaceburg Red Devils goals in game two came from Lilley and Durston who each scored singles.
Game 3 is this Thursday in Six Nations at 8pm where the Wallaceburg Red Devils will face playoff elimination.
