Tyke 1 Griffins Remain Undefeated After Downing Windsor
The Tyke 1 Wallaceburg Griffins looked to improve upon their already undefeated season Tuesday against Windsor, another undefeated team entering the game. After a slow, yet physical start to the game, the Tyke Griffins pulled out a big 5-3 win keeping their undefeated season alive.
Mason Myers scored 2 goals in the win, while Liam Johnston has 1 goal and 2 assists. Shayne Logan and Taylor Mader rounded out the scoring for the Griffings with assists going to Kanton Verstraten, Hunter Shepley and Griffin Kelly.
It was a physical game from the start, but the young Wallaceburg Griffins didn’t back down. The Wallaceburg win came on the heels of a 3 goal outburst in the second period as the Griffins were able to win their battles for loose balls.
Brady Bustin had a very impressive outing in goal, keeping the Tyke 1 Griffins in the game early on, and also while Windsor played most of the thrid period with a man advantage. Bustin was supposed by strong defense and penalty killing from the entire Griffins roster in the third period, allowing the team to walk away with the win.
