Bridget Carleton Makes Ontario Provincial Basketball Team
The Chatham-Kent Wildcats are proud to announce that Bridget Carleton has been chosen for the Under 15 Girls Provincial Basketball team.
Bridget Carleton was chosen as 1 of 12 players for the Midget Girls Under 15 Provincial team. Carleton is the only player born in 1997 (under age) to make this squad. Carleton is currently competing in Chicago, followed by Michigan, and then the Canadian National Finals in Winnipeg in August.
This season, Carleton played for the Chatham-Kent Wildcats Midget Girls and is going to John McGregor Secondary School this fall.
With the Chatham-Kent Wildcats this season, Carleton led her team to an Ontario Cup Division 2 Gold Medal. In the championship game, Carleton hit a buzzer beater for the win. The 6 foot tall Carleton, who will enter grade 9 this fall, will compete with Team Ontario at the National Championships in Winnipeg from August 1 through August 6, at the University of Manitoba Investors Group Athletic Centre.
Bridget is my grand daughter. She loves b-ball & her game shows it. She is fun to watch & I am so happy for her. I guess that I am a little predjudice but I am right. She has greatness in her future!
