Chatham Pro Shop Hosting Grand Opening, Giving Athletes the Edge

July 23, the Chatham Pro Shop will be celebrating their grand opening in Chatham. After moving to their current location on St. Clair Street, the local sports store will be treating customers to a day filled with great deals, giveaways, a BBQ, autographs and more.

On hand, local hockey stars Derek Whitson, who represented Canada as a member of their sledge hockey team, as well as Chatham Maroons and OHL prospects Alex Morgan and Hunter Johnson, will be signing autographs for Chatham-Kent youth. Also, the Chatham Pro is hoping to have other high profile hockey players on hand that day.

It isn’t however all about the celebration. This locally run business by the Lucio family, is about helping local hockey players and athletes play at their best, and serving local consumers.

“Our skate sharpening is out biggest advantage,” said Darryl Lucio. “We have a patented process from Maximum Edge, used by all the pros. It absolutely gives our local kids an edge on the ice”

Not only is the Chatham Pro Shop giving young hockey players the edge, but they’re giving local consumers the edge as well,

“We can beat any price you’ll find in Windsor or London. We don’t have the same overhead as the businesses in the big cities, and if you’re looking for something we don’t have, we’ll get it for you within days.”

The Pro Shop will be working as partners with the Chatham-Kent Cyclones this season, and will be the offical skate sharpeners for the Chatham Maroons, as Darryl Lucio, will also serve as the head trainer for the Maroons this season.

This local store is looking to welcome customers, friends, and members of the sporting community July 23 to celebrate their new location, as well as to serve up discounts, prizes, and a BBQ for anyone who attends. On top of the giveaways, autographs and prizes, anyone who attends the Chatham Pro Shop’s grand opening July 23 will be eligible for dicounts to the evening’s races at South Buxton Raceway.
