Laprise Wins Border Wars Bout With First Round TKO
It was the biggest fight of Chad Laprise’s professional MMA career, taking on Canada’s top ranked grappler, Andrew McInnes. Larpise wasted no time ending the bout and improving his pro MMA record to 4-0 by defeating McInnes with a first round TKO.
The fight took place in Windsor at the WFCU Centre as a part of the Border Wars Professional Fighting Championships event. Laprise’s TKO occured at 2:29 of the first round.
Prior to the fight, Laprise had this to say about having the opportunity to fight and beat McInnes, “Winning this fight will be great as Andrew is a huge name in the grappling world and very well known. After he fought Diego Sanchez in a Sub X Match at the UFC Fan Expo in Toronto, everyone keeps talking about how good he is. Beating him will only make my name bigger.”
McInnes tried to take the fight to the ground early, but Laprise was able to escape his maneuvers before landing a huge right hand that knocked McInnes to the ground where Laprise was able to go to a ground and pound attack until referee Yves Lavigne called the fight giving Laprise the TKO.
Via Facebook, Laprise shared this message with friends and fans following the fight, “Very happy with the biggest win of my life.”
