Chatham’s Larry Balkwill had the game of his life with the Watertown Wizards of the Perect Game Collegiate Baseball League, hitting two singles, double, triple, and home run for the cycle in a single game.

Thursday facing the Glen Falls Golden Eagles, Balkwill powered his team to a 17-6 victory hitting for the cycle, the first cycle in Watertown history, and according to Balkwill, the first cycle in his own career as well.

In the game, Balkwill led off with a home run, followed by a triple, two singles, and a ninth inning double to complete the cycle.

The Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League is a summer league based in New York State for players with NCAA eligibility remaining. Balkwill, who is a sophmore with the Siena College Saints, and was a draft pick of the Detroit Tigers, will be looking to build off a strong summer with Watertown as he returns to Siena in the fall. Watertown has a strong history of producing professional baseball players as more than 20 alumni have advanced to pro baseball.

Balkwill, an Ursuline College graduate, is hitting .214 on the season with the Watertown Wizards, and has served as their starting catcher for 8 of 9 games thus far in their 46 game summer season.
