Leads Tightening at South Buxton Raceway
In three of the four featured races at South Buxton Raceway, the overall leader boards are getting very tight heading into the later half of the season.
Shawn Jones is the lone driver in the Tirecraft Comp 4s event to hold a far and away lead, which he extended Saturday night by winning his 7th straight feature race. Jones, a Blenheim resident, now holds a nearly 100 point lead in the overall Denis DeSerrano.
Dale Glassford’s lead in the Windride Transportation Services UMP Late Models Standings is down to 6 points after second place Kirk Hooker of Chatham took the checkered flag at Saturday’s feature. Hooker used a late lap pass of fellow Chatham driver Jim Jones to take the win in Saturday’s race.
In the Schinkels Gourmet Meats UMP Modifieds standings, Jim Dale Jr. gave himself a 26 point pad in the standings, although Joel Dick remains close on his heels for the overall title. The other feature race of the evening, the Dover Sanitation Sport Stocks, Bob Chapman holds the overall lead, despite the fact that Merlin’s Steve Shaw took the win Saturday.
