Jason Missiaen Named to New York Rangers Prospects Roster
The New York Rangers have announced their 24-man roster for the annual Traverse City Prospects Tournament, and Chatham’s Jason Missiaen is one of two goalies chosen. The other goalie is Scott Staicer, who played for the Owen Sound Attack of the OHL last season.
For Missiaen, this will be his second straight year at the tournament, which begins September 10. Last year, he was invited to the tournament by the Columbus Blue Jackets. Following the tournament, Jason went on to play for Baie-Comeau of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League before signing a professional contract with the Rangers in June.
Depending on how well he does during the tournament, Jason could end up playing this coming season with either the Connecticut Whale of the American Hockey League or the Greenville Road Warriors of the ECHL, both Rangers affiliates.
