Kent Havoc Shutout Bruce To Finish Best Season Ever
The Kent Havoc Mens Rugby team finished their best season ever in convincing fashion defeating the Burce II mens team 55-0. With the win, the Havoc improved to 8-1-1 on the season heading into playoffs.
Adam Girardin powered the Kent Havoc men to their lopsided win scoring three tries in the victory. Matt Waddick, who’s been strong for the Havoc all season, opened the scoring for Kent only 2 minutes intp the first half, followed by Freddie Hermit, Girardin, Tyler Gawley and Girardin. Jared Foster managed a conversion following Girardin’s first try of the game, which he followed with another conversion after Girardin’s next score. Chad Nolan closed out the half in the 39th minute for the Kent Havoc with yet another conversion.
The second half started much the same way as the first ended with complete domination by the Kent Havoc men. Matt Sutherland started the scoring for the Havoc in the second half scoring at the 6 minute mark. Foster coverted the kick on Sutherland’s try, as well as on the final two tries of the game which came from Girardin and Adam Kaufman.
The Kent Havoc Rugby Men’s team finish the regular season, the 10th in club history, at 8-1-1 overall, while outscoring opponents 335-86.
As Men’s Club Captain, I have to say that I am extremly proud to have the honor of leading these guy’s and working with them on and off the field. This year has been exception and I don’t see it fizzling out any time soon. The energy and the atmosphere created by all of the hard work is intoxicating and I beleive all would enjoy.
