Maroons Renew Relationship With Blenheim Blades
The Chatham Jr. B Maroons of the GOJHL have re-kindled an affiliation agreement with the Blenheim Blades of the OHA Junior C league.
This relationship allows the Maroons to call up players registered with the Blades on a game to game affiliation basis.
“We trust this relationship to be beneficial to both organizations and the players involved,” the Maroons said in their official release.
Last season the Chatham Maroons used players from the Dresden Jr. Kings organization, who finished last overall in the Great Lakes league. The Blenheim Blades, who finished just above the Kings, are expected to be a much improved team this season with the return of the majority of their core and the development of young players.
The Maroons themselves have put an emphasis on local youth this season signing Chatham-Kent Cyclones Midget ‘AAA’ players Michael Verboom, Nate Pietens, and Hunter Johnson, as well as Windsor scorer Eric Palazollo. Each of those players dressed for the Maroons last season.
