Openings Remain for Blenheim Hockey School
The third annual Blenheim Hockey School will begin in less than three weeks and there are still openings for young players looking to improve their on-ice skills.
Any player from Atom to Bantam age can still register for one of the three divisions (Atom/Novice, Peewee/Bantam and goaltending) being held at the school that runs Monday, Aug. 22 to Friday, Aug. 26 at the Blenheim arena.
This is the first year that the school has had a separate division for goalies, who will hit the ice Aug. 22 at 2:30 p.m. Atom/Novice players will follow at 3:30 and Peewee/Bantam players at 5.
The cost for each of the divisions is $130. Players who can only make some of the days will pay an adjusted price.
Goalies who participate in the goalie division will be allowed to stay and take part in the other sessions if they so wish at no extra charge, while goalies who are not part of the goalie division will pay $130 for either the Atom-Novice or Peewee-Bantam sessions.
Instructors will include Blenheim Minor Hockey Association president Ronny Van Heesch, Blenheim Blades goalie coach Pete Knights, former Blades coaches Dan Oliphant, Brent Rumble and Scott Bacik, and current and past members of the Blades.
Parents wishing to register their children can contact Bill Saunders at 519-676-7603 or at bill.saunders@blenheimblades.com for more information. Cheques can be made out to the Blenheim Blades Hockey Club and sent to Blenheim Blades Hockey Club, P.O. Box 1775, Blenheim, Ontario, N0P 1A0.
