Team Ontario U15 Girls Continue Winning

At the Canadian Nationals, Team Ontario’s U15 Girls Basketball team is quickly solidifying their position as the team to beat. Last night, Ontario narrowly defeated Team Quebec 75-69.

Chatham’s Bridget Carleton contributed important minutes on the floor pulling down 10 rebounds accoring to Basketball Ontario and chipping in with 7 points, 2 blocks, 2 assists and a steal. Carleton led all Team Ontario players with 26:24 of court time. Kia Nurse, last year’s tournament MVP led the squad with 16 points.

In a 75-55 win over British Columnia Tuesday, Carleton had 6 points and 5 rebounds, while Nurse again led the team in scoring picking up 20 points.

Former Chatham-Kent Secondary School student Erica McFadden and Wallaceburg District Secondary School coach Janine Day take to the court today with the Team Ontario U17’s facing Manitoba in their first playoff round game. Carleton and her U15 teammates are off today, waiting to discover their semi-final opponent for Friday.
