Andy Fantuz’ return to the CFL’s Saskatchewan Roughriders may have been short lived as the Chatham, Ontario native suffered an ankle injury in the game.

Fantuz left the game, his first at home in front of Saskatchewan fans, midway through the second quarter after his leg and ankle were caught under a pile up.

Fantuz has stated to other media sources that it is sore to walk on, and too sore to run on at the moment.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders defeated the Toronto Argonauts in the game 30-20, but now questions have been raised to whether or not Fantuz will be ready to return to action next weekend as the ‘Riders face the BC Lions Saturday, September 24.

Fantuz made one catch for 12-yards prior to his injury in the game.
