Dave Torrie Named Scout for the NHL’s Buffalo Sabres
Former Chatham Maroons head coach, general manager, and president, and Blenheim native, Dave Torrie has joined the Buffalo Sabres NHL scouting staff.
Torrie is making the transition to the professional game after losing his job as the GM of the OHL’s Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds.
This winter, Dave Torrie will be travelling familiar grounds as he will serve as an amateur scout, focusing on the Ontario Hockey League, and Michigan prospects.
As the coach of the Chatham Maroons, Torrie led the team to four Western Junior B Championships, and a Sutherland Cup in 1999.
Torrie has served as the Soo Greyhounds general manager for 8 seasons, taking over the position in 2003.
