This Week in CK Sports features an MMA win for local Jiu-Jitsu fighter Justin Steele, a group of local athletes reaching out to support their community and end domestic violence, and local junior hockey teams getting back on the ice including the Chatham Maroons, Wallaceburg Lakers, and Dresden Kings. As well, Chatham’s Andy Fantuz made a triumphant return to the CFL’s Saskatchewan Roughriders.

- Great Lakes Junior C hockey action got back underway this week with the Wallaceburg Lakers opening up against the Dresden Kings. Dresden managed to slip by the Lakers with a dramatic overtime win. Read more about the Dresden Kings win here…

- Chatham-Kent athletes and coaches from the Chatham Maroons, Tiger Paw Martial Arts, Wallaceburg Lakers, TekSavvy Cobras, Chatham-Kent Cougars, and local high schools participated in Walk a Mile in Her Shoes raising $4,335 to help the local Chatham-Kent Women’s Centre. - Chatham’s Justin Steele grabbed a huge win at the Bravado BJJ Open. The young Jiu-Jitsu fighter who competes for Armstrong Submission/Gracie Barra in Chatham will also fight Sunday in Chatham. Read more about Justin Steele, and watch a video of his fight here…
- After being released by the NFL’s Chicago Bears, Andy Fantuz didn’t waste any time deciding to return to the CFL’s Saskatchewan Roughriders.
