Bobcats, Tartans Win Big in High School Football
The Wallaceburg Tartans and Blenheim Bobcats stormed to big wins in the Friday, stormy weather.
Wallaceburg crushed the John McGregor Panthers 42-0, while Blenheim upended the UCC Lancers 20-6.
In Wallaceburg, Jonah Pataki scored two rushing touchdowns in the win, including 5- and 13-yard runs. Brandon Vilaranda and Jordan Durston both scored long touchdowns on runs of 55- and 35-yards respectively, while Tyler Mel punched in a 5-yard TD. Josh Stokes had the other Wallaceburg touchdown on a long 55-yard pass reception from Brayden Fischer.
In Blenheim, the Bobcats looked like they would add another shutout to the results column in KCSSAA senior boys football action, but UCC managed to crack the Bobcats defence with only 44 seconds remaining in the game. Blenheim however, still walked away with an impressive 20-6 win.
Blenheim touchdowns were scored by Zach Shuian, Nathan Kelly and Andrew Furlan. UCC’s only touchdown was scored by Zak Rybansky.
The Wallaceburg Tartans now sit first overall with a perfect 3-0 record to start the season.
