Bye, Bye Baseball for Chatham-Kent
Unless you’re a St. Louis Cardinals, or a Texas Rangers fan, which most of Chatham-Kent is not, baseball season has come and gone.
Sunday, the Milwaukee Brewers, who were constructed by Chatham’s Doug Melvin, the team’s general manager, were eliminated from the playoffs after losing game 6 of their series against the St. Louis Cardinals.
This was the farthest the Milwaukee Brewers had advanced into the playoffs since 1982.
Also, Chatham-Kent residents will be saving gas money this week by not travelling back and forth across the Windsor-Detroit border to watch the Detroit Tigers play. The Tigers two playoff series, including their recent loss to the Texas Rangers was heavily attended by local baseball fans.
Game one of the World Series gets underway Wednesday, October 19, with game two the following night. Both games will be played in St. Louis.
