Wallaceburg Lakers 1 – Alvinston Flyers 2
In a low scoring affair Friday night in Alvinston, the Flyers snuck by the Wallaceburg Lakers on goals by Jake McPhail and Joe Archer. Wallaceburg’s goal came from Dustin Cope, while Lakers goaltender Reid Rankin made 37 saves in the loss.
Chatham Maroons 5 – St. Marys Lincolns 5 (SO)
As the lone local team to win Friday night, the Chatham Maroons downed the St. Marys Lincolns in a dramatic shootout. In regulation Blake Blondeel scored two goals, while Brennan Feasey, Ben Pataki, and Brett Clarke scored singles. Feasey again proved his worth after returning from the Windsor Spitfires by scoring the shootout winner. Hunter Johnson was again solid in net for the Maroons.
Chatham Maroons 4 – Strathroy Rockets 6
Blake Blondeel continued his torrid scoring pace Sunday night adding two goals to his season totals as the Chatham Maroons collapsed at the hands of the Strathroy Rockets. In their last 4 games including Sunday against Strathroy, Blondeel has 9-points, including 7 goals for the Maroons. Thomas Eady and Trevor Richardson also scored for the Maroons while Hunter Johnson was between the pipes again for the Maroons. The Maroons lead the game 3-1 before falling 6-4.
Dresden Kings 5 – Blenheim Blades 2
The Dresden Kings faced off against the Blenheim Blades in an all Chatham-Kent battle. The game started even with Ben Campbell scoring for Blenheim and Macks Holmes answering back for Dresden in the first period. Dresden however, would have the last laugh winning the game 5-2. Holmes would add another goal before the game was out, with Dylan Mertz scoring twice, and Alex Schmidt also getting on the board for the Kings. The other Blenheim Blades goal was scored by Thomas Innes.
