Chatham Maroons Pass Rockets With Shootout Win

The Chatham Maroons jumped over the Strathroy Rockets with a high scoring 8-7 shootout win over the Strathroy Rockets on the road Saturday night.

Opening the scoring in the game was Ian Jacobs, who was making his season debut for the Chatham Maroons after recovering from a knee injury,

“Great win on the road. Everyone stepped up and played their roles. Couldn’t be happier to be back,” said Jacobs about Saturday nights game in Strathroy.

Steven Szekesy had two goals in the game and added the shootout winner. Other Chatham Maroons goals came from Connor Doran, Marco Canzoneri, Trevor Richardson, and Jesse Allen.

Michael Verboom and Doran each added two assists.

Chatham now welcomes the Lambton Shores Predators to town Sunday night, who are coming off a 7-0 win over the London Nationals Saturday.

Game time is 7:00pm. Children 12 and under, who wear a Hallowe’en costume and are accompanied by an adult will be admitted free of charge to the Maroons game Sunday October 30th.
