Gagnon Makes Debut Count Scoring Two in Maroons Win
Luke Gagnon, an affiliate for the Chatham Maroons, scored twice in his debut with the team, lifting the home team to a much needed 5-3 win over the St. Mary’s Lincolns.
After falling behind 2-0 early in the game, Chatham fought back on goals by Troy Cox and Gagnon to tie the game heading into the third period.
In the third, Gagnon got the scoring started, before Sean Myers scored what would eventually be the game winning goal. Although St. Mary’s was able to pull close, 16-year-old Sam Studnicka was able to put the game on ice potting an empty net goal in the dying seconds of the game.
Hunter Johnson picked up his second win of the season between the pipes for the Chatham Maroons stopping 41 of the 44 shots he faced.
