Kyle Hope Suspended 10 OHL Games For Hit
Blenheim’s Kyle Hope, who plays for the OHL’s Oshawa Generals has been suspended 10 games for a hit on Sarnia Sting player Julian Luciani.
Hope through the hit Friday night as the Sting defeated Hope’s Oshawa Generals 5-2. Hope was assessed a 5 minute charging major and a game misconduct at the time of the incident.
According to the OHL, the suspension was justified due to, the player being in a vulnerable position, the player not being in possession of the puck, direct contact with the head, however with no injury on the play.
Similar to the new procedures by the NHL, the OHL has also taken a stance that any disciplinary action will be accompanied by video footage and an explanation of why the suspension was justified to improve player education and prevention of repeat acts.
In 6 games this season Hope has 3 assists for the Oshawa Generals.
