Will it be a Short Season for Andy Fantuz?
After missing the first games of the season because he was in camp with the Chicago Bears, and later injuring his ankle and missing two games after his return to the Saskatchewan Roughriders, it seems it might be a short football season for Chatham’s Andy Fantuz.
Not only was Fantuz’ season shortened by an injury and his NFL status with the Chicago Bears, but after a terrible start, it appears Fantuz’ season will end even earlier as it is unlikely his Saskatchewan Roughriders will make the CFL playoffs.
In his return to the lineup Monday, a 17-1 loss to the Edmonton Eskimos, Andy Fantuz made 4 catches for 39-yards.
Currently, the Roughriders sit second last in the CFL, only 2 points ahead of the Toronto Argonauts. Saskatchewan sits 6 points behind the Hamilton Tigercats, who are the next closest team in the standings.
With only 4 games left, Saskatchewan is on the outside looking in on the playoff picture. Andy Fantuz and the Saskatchewan Roughriders face the BC Lions Sunday.
