He didn’t know if he would take the fight. In fact, he didn’t think he could. But quit was not in the vocabulary of Wallaceburg’s Jesse ‘The Ghost’ Gross who will take to the cage December 3 at the Meltdown in the Valley.

Taking place at the RBC Centre in Sarnia, for Jesse Gross, who has suffered a few difficult losses in the last year, this fight will be the biggest of his MMA career, because if he loses, it might be his last,

“A win is the only outcome. A loss would fry my career, all my chips are in the pot on this one. I’m going to be in there trying to put him away from bell to bell. I aim to win every second of this fight, punishing him as much as possible.”

Gross, who has been battling to balance working, studying, and training in recent years, said he had to discuss this opportunity with his boss, but rather than meeting opposition, he found yet another supporter for his dream.

After a difficult year both in and out of the cage, Gross is ready to show his supporters, and his critics, that he is ready for the challenge, and that fighting is what he was born to do,

“The life decisions I’ve had to make just to take this fight have been very difficult. In the end it came down to who I am. I am a fighter. There’s a reason I haven’t been to a concert, or pro sporting event or things of that nature, I’m not a spectator. I love being in that cage. The sound of the crowd, the feeling I get when my music hits, the look in the eyes of the man across from me, these things wake me up in the morning.”

Meltdown in the Valley, put on by Avant-Guard Promotions is Sarnia’s first MMA event, gives many faithful fans of Gross’ an opportunity to see the fighter less than an hour from his home, after many fans travelled upwards of 8 or 10 hours to see his previous bouts.

“I’ve been getting asked about the fight from a lot of Wallaceburgers. I hope to see a lot of familiar faces in attendance. Whether they know it or not, they are my back bone. I’m hoping for people to make the short drive over and, be loud enough to shake the building.”

With his Wallaceburg supporters in attendance at the RBC Centre in Sarnia for Meltdown in the Valley, Jesse “The Ghost” Gross is looking for redemption. He’s looking to resurrect his MMA career and prove he is back from the dead, and ready to be an elite fighter,

“It’s been an up and down year both inside and out of the cage,” said Gross, “but this fight will once again give people a reason to believe in Ghosts.”

He’s the most dedicated person I know. Diet and exercise. Eggs and 2 work outs everyday. but he never forgets where he came from. He’s so humble and so modest. He doesn’t know how perfect he is. I’m so proud of who he is and I will support him through and through.
