Chatham Thunder U10 Remain Undefeated
The Cement Man U10 Chatham Thunder Ringette team were once again on the road this weekend. After two games on Sunday they remain undefeated, beating London3 and Mitchell White soundly (Mitchell was previously undefeated).
In game 1, against London3, Courtney Legere opened the scoring halfway through the first period and pocketed another 2 minutes later, both unassisted. Courtney’s third goal of the first period was nicely fed by Natasha Anderson. Courtney added a fourth goal halfway through the second period, assisted by Emilie Newman and Camille Blain. Lydia Harron rounded out the scoring by adding a fifth and final goal of the game, unassisted.
Our defensive team of Shelby Ritzer, Camille Blain, Ireland DaSilva and Leah Thompson protected our goalie Audrie Mackay-Barr who posted her third shutout in seven games. Way to go girls. Shelby is our game star.
After a short drive up to Mitchell our girls were hungry for our seventh straight win of the season. The Chatham parents were thrilled to see a goal pocketed by Chatham within 31 seconds of the game start. Natasha Anderson passed up to Courtney Legere for that goal. Courtney added another unassisted goal followed shortly thereafter by a nice pocket by Lydia Harron, also unassisted. Delaney George, Natasha and Courtney, worked their magic again to add a fourth goal just one minute later. Ireland DaSilva added a fifth assisted by Erica Anderson. Delaney George intercepted a pass and walked in for our sixth and final goal of the first period.
Mitchell White could not muster a single goal in the first period, once again showing the strength of our defensive lines. Mitchell White finally found the net at 4 minutes into the second period but that would be their only goal of the game. Chatham answered with one more goal with just 38 seconds left in the game, unassisted by Erica Anderson.
Courtney Legere is game star, with two hatricks for the day. We travel to Tillsonburg and London1 on December 3rd where we hope to keep our undefeated status. Chatham is currently at the top of the leaderboard. Only Forest Blue and Chatham Thunder U10 remain undefeated.
