Chatham Thunder Weekly Ringette Update
Chatham Thunder Provincial Tween “A” U14 Sweep Weekend Games
The Chatham Thunder Provincial Tween “A” U14 Ringette team, sponsored by Maple City Electric, travelled to St. Mary’s on Saturday.
It took the first five minutes of the game for the Thunder to score but once they got started they kept it up to beat St. Mary’s 6-2.
Goals were scored by Claire Hedrick, Jordan Dziver, Julia Stephens(2) and Tristan Stewart(2). Helpers were credited to Vivian Dowdall (2) and Carys Owen (2). The net minder who kept us in the game was Sarah Woods.
The Chatham Thunder Provincial Tween “A” U14 Ringette team, sponsored by Maple City Electric, hosted Dorchester on Sunday.
The girls raced from the start scoring their first goal only 54 seconds into the first period. Chatham didn’t let up scoring again 28 seconds later. The Thunder netted 5 goals in each period for 10-0 shut out over Dorchester.
Goals were scored by Brooke Marchand, Tess Scaman, Julia Stephens, Carys Owen(2), Jordan Dziver(2) and Tristen Stewart(3). Helpers were credited to Claire Hedrick, Taylor Dziver, Vivian Dowdall, Tess Scaman and Carys Owen. The net minder with the shut out was Sarah Woods.
The girls travel to Kitchener on Sunday at 5:00pm.
Chatham Thunder U12 Win Two
The Boston Pizza U12 Regional Team had two home games over the weekend and were the big winners in both games.
On Saturday the London Lynx visited Erickson Arena. Chatham dominated the game sending London home with a 11-4 lost.
Abbie Chandler led the attack with four goals and three assists. Sorcha Rountree and Rachel Benn each had two goals and a assist.
Emily Raaymakers, Regan Owen and Niyah Poole all had single goals. Evelyn Mackay-Barr and Rachel Carlton had two helpers a piece.
On Sunday Forest Extreme travelled to Erickson arena. Chatham came out strong in this 11-2 victory A great team effort with single goals by 9 players in this win.
Chantelle Legere, Regan Owen, Abbie Chandler, Sorcha Rountree, Emily Anderson, Rachel Carlton, Rachel Benn, Niyah Poole, Evelyn Mackay-Barr. Emily Raaymakers added two goals.
The Chatham Thunder are on the road to Tillsonburg this upcoming weekend.
Chatham Thunder U16 Struggle Through Difficult Weekend
The Unigasco Junior A Ringette Team had a less than stellar weekend, going 0-1-2. On Saturday they travelled to Forest to suffer a crushing 7-2 loss. On Sunday, their double-header with Seaforth ended in 2 ties, 5-5 and 2-2. On Sunday, Hannah Doforno got the hat trick, while Jane Vanoirschot, Miriam Alshibli, Nicole Hook, and Madison Goodwin all had singles. The girls have next weekend off and are on their way to the St.Mary’s tournament the following weekend.
