Five Wallaceburg Lacrosse Players Lead KW to Tourney Win in New York

Five St. Clair Spirit field lacrose players were selected by Kitchener-Waterloo to participate in the Flour City Face Off Field Lacrosse Tournament in Rochester, New York last weekend.

The group of Wallaceburg lacrosse players, including Nathan Carroll, Joel Shepley, Drake Brown, Eric Shepley, and Evan Mathany won all four games they competed in including against three teams from New York and an Ontario team. The team’s four straight wins were enough to capture the tournament championship.

In their first game, the Kitchener-Waterloo team defeated Greece New York 19-2, followed by a 9-4 win over Edge Elite Missisauga. The team followed this up by defeating Marcus Whitman New York 15-4 before beating Gates New York 12-2 in the final.

In addition to playing for the St. Clair Spirit field lacrosse team, the five athletes were also members of the Wallaceburg Red Devils this past season.
