Maxwell Allin Named Wilfird Laurier Athlete of the Week

Chatham’s Maxwell Allin was dominant on the courts this past week, leading to his selection as the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks male athlete of the week.

Allin, who’s in his third year at Wilfird Laurier in Waterloo, lead the Golden Hawks to weekend wins over Ryerson and Toronto, to help his team start their season a perfect 2-0.

Friday, Allin scored 17-points in a 85-65 season opening win over Ryerson. The former UCC student followed up this performance by leading all scorers in a 84-79 win over the Toronto Varsity Blues with 26-points.

Wilfird Laurier will now prepare to face Queens November 18.

Last year, Allin was named the OUA Athlete of the Week in late February, and was an OUA Men’s Basketball Second Team All-Star while averaging over 18-points per game for the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks.
