Oilers Ryan Jones on Pace For 20-Goal NHL Season

Chatham’s Ryan Jones scored his fourth and fifth goals last week and is on pace to reach his first 20-goal NHL season.

On Nov. 17, Ryan scored his fourth goal of the season as the Edmonton Oilers dropped a 5-2 loss to the Ottawa Senators.  The Oilers came back, however, two nights later, and beat up on the Chicago Blackhawks, 9-2, with Ryan picking up his fifth goal.  In 19 games, the Chatham native has eight points.  Last year, he scored 18 goals in 82 games.

In other pro games, Dresden’s T.J. Brodie picked up his first NHL point, an assist ,as his Calgary Flames beat the Chicago Blackhawks, 5-2, on Nov. 18.

Wes Cunningham had an assist as his Greenville Road Warriors beat the Florida Everblades, 5-2, on Nov. 18.  Teammate Jason Missiaen of Chatham was in the nets for the entire game as the Road Warriors dropped a 5-0 game to the Everblades on Nov. 19.

Blenheim’s Kyle Hope of the Oshawa Generals had a goal in a 4-2 loss to the Guelph Storm on Nov. 18.  Wallaceburg’s Seth Griffith scored his 14th goal of the season as the London Knights beat the Own Sound Attack, 7-5, on Nov. 19.  Thamesville’s Dane Fox had two assists for the Knights in the Owen Sound game.  Seth also scored the winning overtime goal against the Attack on Nov. 20 as the Knights won 3-2.

Finally, Chatham’s Hokey Langan had a goal and an assist as her Ohio State Buckeyes took a pair of games from Syracuse University on Nov. 18 and 19.
