Rough Pro Start for Chatham’s Jason Missiaen

Jason Missiaen finally got his first regular season action as a professional goalie in the ECHL this past weekend, but the Chatham native probably wishes the result had been a little better.

On Nov. 4, Jason came into the game and played just over 25 minutes as his Greenville Road Warriors fell behind the Reading Royals and dropped a 7-3 contest.  Jason stopped 10 of 12 shots.

The next night, Jason got the nod as his team’s starter.  He stopped 25 of 29 shots, but the Road Warriors dropped their second game of the weekend, a 5-2 loss to the Florida Everblades.

The Road Warriors are 4-5 on the season.

In other action, Chatham’s Ryan Jones picked up an assist as the Edmonton Oilers shut out the Los Angeles, 3-0, on November 3.

In Ontario Hockey League play this past week, Seth Griffith of Wallaceburg kept chalking up more points as he picked up two assists on the week, one each in 4-2 and 4-3 wins over Brampton and Erie on November 4 and 5 respectively.

Blenheim’s Kyle Hope, back in action for the Oshawa Generals, had an assist in his team’s 5-3 win over Niagara on November 3.  He also had an assist in a 3-1 loss to the Kitchener Rangers on November 6.

Chatham’s Ally Strickland scored what proved to be the game winner as the University of Windsor Lancers beat Western, 6-3, on November 6.
