The Edmonton Oilers and Chatham’s Ryan Jones suffered a 3-0 loss to the Detroit Red Wings Friday night at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit.

Jones was one of the Edmonton Oilers ice time leaders amongst forward in the game, seeing significant time on the penalty kills. Jones played on a line with Sam Gagner and Eric Belanger for much of the game creating energy with his physical style of play.

In the second, Jones drew an interference penalty against Niklas Kronwall after Jones cleared the puck on the penalty kill and forced Kronwall to slow him up on the forecheck. Jones did not hit the scoresheet in the game, but did take a slashing call against Dan Cleary in the third.

With the loss, Edmonton sits in 3rd in the Western Conference, and next play the Chicago Blackhawks.
