- June 2 – Mainly sunny, a chance of clouds…that was music to everyone’s ears from farmers to athletes in Chatham-Kent as weeks of games had been postponed and cancelled in high school athletics, track and field, football, soccer, and baseball. - June 5 – The UCC Lancers stopped the WDSS Tartans one win short of an undefeated season taking the 2011 Kent Junior Football Championship. - June 7 – In one of the best “giving back” stories of the year, local umpires, lead by Chatham’s Adam Ripley, decided to donate a portion of their umpire fees to breast cancer. On top of that, the umpires wore pink uniforms for these donated game. Read about the Umpires in Pink initiative here…
- June 9 – The biggest high school athletics awards of the year were handed out in early June, with Chatham-Kent Secondary School sweeping both the Male and Female Jack Parry Award honours. Kailey Houston and Thomas Bednarik took home the 2011 honours. Read about the 2011 Jack Parry Awards…
- June 12 – Former Wallaceburg Minor Lacrosse player Zach Herreweyers accepted a full ride athletic scholarship to play for the Loyola University Field lacrosse team. Read more about Zach Herreweyers here…

- June 24 – Three Blenheim, Ontario rugby players, Tegan Williams, Breanne Nicholas, and Amber Nicholas were named to Team Ontario Rugby rosters. Read more about the three Blenheim rugby players on Team Ontario…
- June 24 – In an official release from the Municipality of Chatham-Kent, TekSavvy, and the Kent Havoc, the organizations announced they would host two international rugby matches involving four nations during the summer of 2011 as a part of the TekSavvy Kent Cup. - June 25 – Chatham’s Mallor Johnston captured a silver medal as a member of Team Canada at the 2011 World Ball Hockey Championships in Slovakia. Read about Mallory Johnston’s silver medal performance…
- June 25 – In what had to be the month’s most disappointing moment, Wallaceburg’s Seth Griffith, a star with the OHL’s London Knights, was passed over in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. - June 28 – Undermanned, the Maple City Brewers called on 67-year-old manager Wayne Tulloch to step up to the plate and play the field so they would not have to forfeit their weekend game. Amazingly, Tulloch had a hit and an RBI for the Brewers. Read about Wayne Tulloch’s amazing game here…
