The 2011-2012 has not been a particularly good one so far for the seven Chatham-Kent residents who are playing collegiate hockey this season.

Only senior forward Jared Balog of Chatham and his Calvin College Knights have a winning record at the midway point.  The Knights are 11-5-1 in the Michigan Collegiate Hockey Conference, and Jared has seven goals and 11 assists.

Another four-year player, Brett Vandehogen of Chatham and his University of Windsor Lancers are 8-9 at midseason.  Brett has four goals and four assists in 16 games.

Two players in their freshmen season, Devon Roeszler and Joshua Gordon, are off to a slow start.  Devon, who plays for the University of Ontario Institute of Technology, has two assists in 16 games.  Joshua is scoreless in 11 games with Trinity Western University in British Columbia.

Among the three Chatham women playing this season, Hokey Langan has 11 points (5 goals and 6 assists) with her Ohio State Buckeyes team in 18 games.  The Buckeyes are currently 9-7-2.

Freshman Ally Strickland and her University of Windsor Lancers are 8-5-2 so far on the season.  Ally has two goals and six assists in 15 games.

Senior Chesley Heinbuis has a goal and two assists in 18 games for Union College, which is 3-14-2 on the season.
