Goalie Jason Missiaen Picks Up First Pro Win
Chatham goalie Jason Missiaen won his first professional hockey game on Nov. 30, stopping 37 shots as his Greenville Road Warriors skated to a 5-2 win over the Kalamazoo Wings in ECHL action.
The Wings, who entered Wednesday’s game with the top offense in the ECHL averaging 3.7 goals per game, struck 21 seconds apart in the first period to grab a 2-0 lead. Greenville, however, regained its composure and Jeff Prough scored his sixth power play goal of the season, 11th overall, at 5:49 to pull the Road Warriors within one. They tied the game in the second and added three unanswered goals in the final period to give Jason the win.
Fellow Chatham-Kent native, Wes Cunningham of Dresden, a defenceman for the Road Warriors, was held scoreless in the name.
Greenville ended the night 2-for-3 on the power play and 3-for-4 on the penalty kill.
