Video: Jesse Gross Suffers Controversial Loss at Meltdown, See Interview
It was clear, the 2175 people in attendance at Sarnia’s RBC Centre didn’t agree with the quick call that charged Wallaceburg’s Jesse Gross with a loss against Daron Cruickshank at Meltdown in the Valley Saturday night.
Similar to another recent fight, in which a referee’s error cost Jesse Gross a fight against Brad Cardinal, Saturday’s decision was worse in the eyes of many fight fans as the referee awarded Cruickshank a TKO victory over Jesse Gross at only 1:38 of the first round.
Although Gross lost the fight, Avant Guard and Meltdown promoter Woodrow James praised the Wallaceburg fighter for his intensity and the skill set he brings to the cage
Following the stoppage, the RBC Centre rang with boos. The loss drops Gross’ record to 6-3 professionally.

excellent breakdown of the controversial stoppage. Hope Jesse stays strong and fights again.
i counted the on-answered strikes, i want to say there were 14 hard hitting shots. very fast and on the botton everytime. i think it was a good stop. if the reff didnt stop it at the time , the only thing that would have happen is that jesse would have taking more big shots and may not have walked away from the fight without real harm. the reff did the right thing.
