Vipers Leave Chatham Maroons Snakebit, See Photos

The Lasalle Vipers walked into Chatham Memorial Arena Sunday afternoon and delivered an unwelcomed Holiday gift to the Chatham Maroons. The Vipers left the Maroons snakebit defeating the home team 6-2.

After a quick start with goals from Ryan Speers and Dylan Seguin on the first few shots of the game, the Maroons made a goaltending change pulling Connor MacKinnon and putting in Hunter Johnson who was solid from that point on.

As the game progressed, the home crowd became frustrated by the calls of the game’s referees which saw a parade of Chatham Maroons head to the penalty box. In the second period, Ryan Speers opened the scoring for the Lasalle Vipers shorthanded to make the game 3-0. Chatham would show life on the powerplay with goals from Marco Canzoneri and Blake Blondeel before Jonathan Woelk would jam one home in a goalmouth scramble.

The third period was again all Lasalle with Chad Shepley and Matt Beaudoin capping off the scoring.

Chatham now has until after the New Year off. Click the images below to enlarge:
