Goldrush Continues For Chatham Skating Club

The Chatham Skating Club sent 20 of its’ skaters to the Pat Abela/Lyle McPhedran Skating Competition in Mooretown this past weekend, Jan. 21 and 22.

Chatham walked away with 15 medals.

In Starskate Gold Interpretive, Ryley Goodhand landed a Gold Medal during her skate; while during the Starskate Silver Interpretive events, Hayley Luckhurst and Emily Opthof also took home a Gold Medal and Madelyn Alexander gained the Silver Medal, each in their own respective flights. Also, at the Starskate Bronze Interpretive event, Ashley Hudson was 7th in her flight.

During Starskate Preliminary Ladies, Hannah Ross captured the Gold Medal. While at a separate flight, Brianna LaChance placed 4th and Jessica Rummery finished in 7th place in the flight.

Starskate Preliminary Men had 2 Chatham finalists, as Zachary Stallaert took home the Silver Medal while Ben Alexander received the Bronze Medal.

At the Starskate Pre-Preliminary Ladies events, Brooke MacLeod was the Silver Medallist, while Olivia Hunter placed 4th in the same flight. During another flight, Amanda Couture also brought back the Silver Medal.

Elyse Gregory and Mackenzie Faubert, each in their own respective flights, both stood centre podium with their Gold Medals during the WO Preliminary ‘A’ Ltd. Ladies events. Ashley Hudson placed 4th during her flight.

Four more skaters, skated at the WO Pre-Preliminary Ltd. Ladies flights. Each in their own flight, Gabrielle Doey and Sydney Hart both brought home the Gold Medals, while Emily Zimmer captured the Silver Medal, and Emma McGrail placed 4th in her flight.
