In Belle River, the Canadiens handed Wallaceburg a 7-1 beating. Scott Chauvin lead the Canadiens with two goals and two assists in the win, while Weston Gaul had a goal and two assists.
Wallaceburg’s only goal came midway through the third period as a trio of hometown products connected with Mike Myers scoring from Jordan Durston and Troy Babcock.
In Dresden, the Kings couldn’t match the firepower of the first place Essex 73s as Essex took home a 4-2 win.
Dresden’s only scoring came in the second period with Brennan Rainey and Cody McPhail both finding the back of the net. Entering the third period with a 2-1 lead, Dresden couldn’t hold on, as Essex scored three unanswered goals to skate away with the win.
In other Great Lakes news, Alvinston defeated Mooretown Friday night in a high scoring 9-7 affair.
