Local Athletes Hit Career High’s in NCAA
Chatham’s Hokey Langan and Wallaceburg’s Deanna Kerkhof both had career NCAA weekends in their respective sports.
Langan, playing in her junior season with the Ohio State Buckeyes women’s hockey team, recorded her 100th career NCAA hockey point. Her second assist in Friday’s 6-2 over North Dakota marked her 100th career point, coming as 44 goals and 56 assists.
Through 28 games this season, Langan has 6 goals and 10 assists.
Kerkhof, also a junior, scored a career high 29-points for the Northeastern University women’s basketball team, as her NU Huskies defeated William & Mary 82-71. Kerkhof, a Wallaceburg product and UCC Lancers alumni, was 6-for-6 from the free throw line, and also hit 5 three pointers in the game.
Through the first 17-games of the season, Deanna Kerkhof is averaging 14-points per game with Northeastern.
