It was a busy weekend for Martinrae’s Kent County Fillies Bantam B girls. The Kent Fillies squad were too good to stop at the B.A.D. Girls Tournament as they captured gold at the weekend tournament in Alymer. The team also managed to win a provincial playoff game against Lambton Shores.

The first game of the weekend Friday at the B.A.D. Girls Tournament saw the Kent Fillies walk away with a 1-0 win against the hometown hosts, the B.A.D. Girls. Olivia Henry scored the Fillies only goal, assisted by Cassidy Wammes.

In game two, the Fillies fought to a 1-1 tie with Mount Brydges. Lauren Stefina potted the Fillies only goal of the game.

Sunday morning saw a 2-0 win, this time against Waterloo. Olivia Henry scored both of the Fillies goals, assisted by Miah St. Pierre and Karleigh Murphy.

Later that day in the gold medal game, again facing Mount Brydges, the Bantam Fillies again put together an impressive performance, grabbing gold with a 4-2 win. Scoring for the Fillies was Rachael Cameron, Alexa Pugh, Henry and Stefina. Adrianna Long added two assists in the game while Henry added a single assist.

In an impressive show of stamina, between the tournament games, the Bantam Kent County Fillies also managed a 4-1 win against Lambton Shores in their first home game of provincial play downs. Val Gotelaer, Lauren Stefina, Alexa Pugh and Anneke Cameron each scored goals in the game. Assists when to Cameron, Henry, Long, and Stefina.
