Futures West Invitational Skating Competition Coming to Blenheim

The Futures – West Invitational Skating Competition will be hosted at the Blenheim Community Recreation Center, in Blenheim, Ontario on the weekend of March 3rd & 4th, 2012. Scheduled times for the competition will be:Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

There will be approximately 400 skaters entered into this event, bringing hundreds of travellers from across Southwestern Ontario to the community of Chatham-Kent and Blenheim.

Skaters will be attending from Bluewater, Kent and SunParlour Regions of Western Ontario Section of Skate Canada (from Windsor to Sarnia to West Lorne inclusive).

The Local Organizing Committee expects there to be an influx to the local economy from this event as skaters and their families will be visiting restaurants, hotels, gas stations and shopping in downtown Blenheim during these competition times.

The Skating Clubs of the Kent Region Skating Council (Blenheim, Chatham, Dresden, Ridgetown, Tilbury, Wallaceburg, Walpole Island and West Elgin) will play host to this exciting competition with a large number of our local Chatham-Kent and West Elgin skaters are entered into this competition.

The Kent Region Skating Council invites the community to come and enjoy skating at it’s finest.

The proceeds from this Event go to helping local skaters (single or synchronized, recreational or competitive) in the Kent Region.
