Chatham’s Ryan Jones raised over $5000 in two days during a campaign called “save the flow,” in which he was raising money for families in need. During the first days of the campaign, Jones, who has become known for his long hair, appealed fans to donate $5000, or else he would shave his head.

Now, Jones has upped his goal, which must be met before Valentines Day on Wednesday, to $10,000.

Each year, people give their hair in an event called the Hair Massacre to help families dealing with life threatening illnesses.

“To see such a quantity of people out there willing to give their hair, it’s just cool,” Jones said in a release published on the team’s Facebook page.

Instead of cutting his hair however, Jones decided to raise funds to save his hair.
