Youlton, Christian Named OCAA Volleyball All-Stars

Sam Youlton and Peter Christian, both Chatham, Ontario products, were named Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) volleyball all-stars Thursday at the league’s annual awards ceremony.

Christian, a Chatham-Kent Secondary School graduate, was named an OCAA First Team All-Star. The Seneca College athlete was ranked 9th in the OCAA in kills per set, and 10th in total points with 233. He also ranked in the top ten (9th) in blocks with 46, and was 15th in both kills per set (2.59) and total kills (163).

Sam Youlton, a John McGregor Secondary School alumni, was named an OCAA West Second Team All-Star. Youlton, a member of the Fanshawe Falcons, was 6th in the conference in blocks with 51 and 11th in kills with 166.

Seneca College finished second in the East Region, while Fanshawe College was 6th this season in the West. Seneca was ousted from the OCAA Championships by Mohawk College, before defeating Redeemer College Friday in the Bronze Medal round.
