Bergeron, Bowling Green Falcons Win Again
Chris Bergeron of Wallaceburg and his Bowling Green Falcons won their second, best-of-three Central Collegiate Hockey Association playoff series on the weekend with a dramatic 4-3 overtime victory over the top-ranked Ferris State Bulldogs on March 11.
The Falcons also won the first game of the best-of-three series in overtime, 3-2 on March 9. They lost the second game, 7-4.
Bergeron’s team, which had the worst regular season record in the CCHA, now travels to the Joe Louis Arena, where they will take on another Chatham-Kent resident, Brian Wiseman, and his University of Michigan Wolverines on March 16. Brian is in his first year as an assistant coach with the Wolverines. Western Michigan will face the University of Miami (Ohio) in the second game in the championship series.
